Notes: My specialty is truly great sounding, yet very reasonably priced 24 track live performance recording and ProTools mixing. Among many great musicians and groups I have recorded are three Grammy award winning guitarists (Laurence Juber—formerly with Paul McCartney and Wings, Doug Smith and Mark Hanson). I have also had the pleasure of recording two amazing live fusion performances featuring bass guitarist phenomenon (seriously) Ric Fierabracci, with Australia’s premier guitarist, Brett Garsed, and Joel Taylor on drums. You can hear some of this work on my website forbesound.com. Also recorded the headliners at the Telluride Jazz Festival in Colorado (Latin Jazz Legends Flora Purim and Airto Moreira).. I have also done recordings at the Key Club, The Roxy (Opus Dai), The Baked Potato (Kofi Baker Band with Ric Fierabracci), The Grove in Anaheim (The Who Show),The Galaxy Theater in Santa Ana (Midnight to Twelve), the old BB King's club at Universal Citywalk, a progressive rock concert by Canon at Union Station in L.A., and all kinds of different music from blues to a full orchestra, at all types of venues. I’ve also mixed and mastered several studio recorded albums.    I get rave reviews from all involved, with no exceptions. My live recordings usually surpass the studio recordings of the same bands--it's the energy factor that is very hard to duplicate in the studio.  I use a 24 channel, transformer-isolated mic splitter to avoid any interaction effects with the PA. This feeds into an Avalon and many Focusrite mic pre's via 100% Mogami cables & snakes, and is converted into 24 bit digital inside the preamps. The recording is made on a rock-solid, dependable 24 track dedicated hard disk recorder. Then I transfer the audio to a custom Pro Tools rig for editing, mixing and mastering. Much more important than any gear, of course, is my decades of live sound and recording experience. Forbesound will give you the virtual equivalent sound—if not the visual wow factor—of the $6,000 per day mobile trucks for just $300 for the recording (local LA area gigs), and $200 for a totally pro basic mix (of course, if you are doing a commercial release, you may want to spend more time and money on the mix). Either way, you will be impressed.

You can hear samples of live recordings that I have done with this rig at my website http://www.forbesound.com
