Mission
Statement
Establish a
musical community to foster a creative and positive environment, where artist’s
of all ages will develop their musical skills and achieve their musical
aspirations.
The
Hothouse… “Where Music Grows”.
Who We
Are - Overview
The Hothouse
Music Group was conceived as a musical community, establishing itself as a
positive and creative environment in the local music landscape. The Hothouse is
a studio where artists of all ages can develop their musical ideas one
rehearsal at a time.The
Hothouse is committed to helping bands have effective and efficient rehearsals
by informing them on the methods and procedures used in the art of music
rehearsal. We’re committed to exposing and educating the artist on the
“business” of the Music industry. Most importantly, the Hothouse is building a
network of artists (signed and unsigned), music industry professionals,
recording studios, equipment manufactures, venue owners, merchandisers, retail affiliations, equipment service
and repair providers, multimedia consultants and still growing…A coming together
of the musical community for the benefit of the artist.
Who We
Are – Rehearsal Studios
Here at
Hothouse Rehearsal Studios we take yourrehearsal experience seriously.
That’s why we keep the studios and the facility clean.
We maintained the equipment daily, so none of your rehearsal time is spent
trying to get equipment to work.
The Hothouse
consistently provides the high standard of service that musicians tell us, they
often can’t find elsewhere.We offer
honest and opened arms respect and are proud of the artist community that has
developed and continues to grow here at the Hothouse.
The Hothouse
pioneered the affordable “acoustically designed” rehearsal studio to enhance
yourrehearsal experience.
The studios
were purposely built.The hothouse
interviewed over 50 bands to find out what they where looking for in a rehearsal
facility.We then took their
feedback and consulted several acoustic engineers to help us design the studios
and determine which materials to use in its construction.
The studios
are constructed as independent rooms to reduce sound transmission.Studio to studio the walls never touch,
incorporating dual wall construction.
Each wall was constructed out of the finest materials to block sound
transmission.When closed, the
studio doors are designed to block sound leakage. The walls and doors work together as a sound barrier to reduce sound
transmission.
Within the
studios, various acoustic treatments are used to increase sound intelligibility.
By reducing reverberation, echoes, low frequency buildup and the effects of
standing waves, sound clarity is achieved and the studios remain fresh sounding. So what you’re playing is what you’re
hearing.
Having great
sounding rooms and quality equipment isn’t the only reason artists are using the
Hothouse to meet their rehearsal needs. It’s the positive and creative
atmosphere. It’s the high standard of service you
receive from our staff members.It’s
the attention to details…The artist is the priority.
Who We
Are - Workshops and Musical Instruction
Through a
seminar series, the artist is being introduced to the art of music rehearsal and
the “business” of the music industry. The seminars are being presented by working industry professionals.
Drawing on their experience in the workplace, these professionals are teaching
you the methods, practices and techniques being used everyday throughout the
music industry.Relevant information
designed to positively impact your music career.
With music
programs being closed in our schools the Hothouse is committed to filling this
void in the musical landscape.Instructors in each instrument are experienced teachers and musicians.
Classes are small and individual attention to each student is our top priority.
Who We
Are – Music Community
With the
guidance of our Music Advisory board, the Hothouse is developing a community
intent on supporting artist development.Industry professionals, recording studios, equipment manufactures, venue
owners, merchandisers, retail affiliations, multimedia consultants, equipment
service and repair providers are coming together for the benefit of the artist.
People Behind Hothouse
Rehearsal Studios
Richard
Morales
Is a dreamer
who dreamed a dream and the Hothouse Group took form and grew......
Richard Morales brings his varied background in the music industry to the helm of the Hothouse Group, Inc. He began his career as a concert promoter and talent buyer in Los Angeles. Accepting a position in the A&R department at the renowned Capital Records, he used his multitude of talents working with the labels veteran artists, and their established and newly signed bands. He’s had the honor to be the A&R coordinator on album projects with the legendary Paul McCartney, smooth jazz saxophonist Dave Koz, blues guitarist and singer-songwriter Bonnie Raitt, and the startling six octave and change R&B singer-songwriter Rachelle Farrell, the Dandy Warhols, Coldplay, The Vines, Verbena, Javier, and Snoop Dogg.
Known for his aptitude to pick hit songs and his artist comes first philosophy at Capital Richard built relationships with and learned from all the producers, engineers, musicians and their personal managers, the artist managers and their management companies, recording studio owners, rental houses and yes rehearsal studios.
Seeing the need for a professional quality rehearsal facility at an affordable price Richard opened Hothouse Rehearsal Studios to give emerging artist a place to hone their craft.
Formed in Wayne, NJ, by vocalist and songwriter
John Easdale
in 1983, Dramarama self-released a single and a five-song EP
before a French label commissioned a full-length album from the
band, which recycled material from both previous releases. The
result, 1985's
Cinema
Verite, featured "Anything Anything," which began
scoring airplay after the album was picked up by Chameleon
Records in the United States.
Dramarama called it a day after a farewell show at Asbury
Park's the Stone Pony in 1994; four years later,
John Easdale
returned to the music business with a solo album. The group was
featured on the popular VH1 reality series Bands Reunited
in 2004, prompting the collective—minus bassist
Chris Carter—to
reform around material originally intended for an
Easdale
solo record. Dramarama relased
Everybody
Dies in 2005.
